Open your route
Google Maps directions are not a truck-specific route clearance check.

Opens the official-source finder using your destination as a city reminder. This does not calculate stops along the route.
Live Traffic Cameras
Pick a state. Open its camera list or map. Check the highway ahead while you are safely parked.
Some services cover a region or selected highways. Camera availability is not guaranteed.
Coach Maricel’s winter trip check
Read the camera timestamp and viewing direction. An old or frozen image is not a current road report.
Compare several nearby views for visibility and changing conditions. A clear-looking image cannot rule out ice.
Read official closures, wind alerts and commercial-vehicle or chain restrictions before deciding whether to proceed.
Use while parked. Cameras support trip planning; they do not establish that a road is safe for your truck. If conditions exceed your training or equipment, stay stopped in a suitable location and seek guidance.
Sources & coverage
Direct links to state DOT, 511 and public-agency camera services. Some camera maps require enabling the Cameras layer. Illinois uses regional Travel Midwest coverage; DC links to Maryland approaches. Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont share a camera list. Texas offers direct metro-area links. Hawaii camera coverage varies by island and highway.

Truck Parking & Rest Stops
Choose your state and open its travel map directly, or use an established truck-stop locator below.
Check rest-area status on the map, then confirm truck access, fees and overnight rules for your stop. Available parking spaces are not guaranteed.
Your city is shown as a reminder below. Enter it in the operator’s locator after opening its website.
- Confirm wide truck entrance.
- Check satellite view.
- Avoid tiny gas stations, low bridges, dead ends, and tight shopping centers.
- Confirm the location accepts your truck and permits your intended rest period.
- A shipper, receiver, distribution center, fuel pump, or scale is not overnight parking unless the operator explicitly permits it.
- Never risk unsafe shoulder parking.

🧠 Backing Fundamentals
👋 Welcome to Coach Maricel's Backing System
Before we touch the steering wheel, we're going to understand how a trailer really moves. Most students struggle because they memorize steering instead of understanding the trailer. In this course, you'll learn to watch the trailer first, think first, then make one small correction. By the end of these lessons, backing will finally make sense.
